Discover an extraordinary story
The book "Komierowskis – a family as old as Poland" introduces readers to the vibrant story of the Komierowski family, which for centuries actively participated in the most important events in Polish history. From medieval battles, through national uprisings, to World War II, the Komierowskis always stood up for Poland's independence.
In the book, we will find answers to questions about the Komierowskis' contribution to the development of culture, the economy, and social life. We will learn which Komierowski was awarded the French Legion of Honor and the Polish Virtuti Militari, and what connections Marszałkowska Street in Warsaw had with this family. The publication also reveals how the writer Józef Komierowski sponsored one of the Polish poets and why Adolf Hitler came to Komierów at the beginning of the war.
Written in an accessible, journalistic style, rich in anecdotes and stunning photographs, the book is based on solid source documentation, literature on the subject, and family traditions, particularly those of the brothers Rafał and Piotr Komierowski.
This extraordinary work is the result of many years of work by Grzegorz Polak, a friend of the Komierowski family and author of numerous publications on religious and historical topics.
