The border of the largest complex of coniferous forests in Poland, stretching from the Kashubian Lake District in the north to Bydgoszcz in the south, is 18 km from the palace to Gostycyn, and only 13 km by a cycling dirt trail to Pruszcz.
Within a few minutes you can be in the heart of the Tuchola Forests, more precisely in the Tuchola Landscape Park, which together with three other landscape parks and the Tuchola Forest National Park forms a unique green enclave – the "Tuchola Forests Biosphere Reserve" UNESCO, also included in the so-called "bird directive" project as a NATURA 2000 Protected Area.
According to many experts on the Tuchola Forests and tourists who regularly visit this region, the most interesting attractions are indeed located in the Tuchola Landscape Park and its buffer zone, which is relatively close to our palace. Therefore, the Hotel Pałac Komierowo can be an extremely valuable, luxurious accommodation alternative for guests visiting the Tuchola Forests and Krajnę.
The Tuchola Forests is a common name for the largest forest complex in Poland. Formally, together with the "Tuchola Forests" National Park and 25 nature reserves as well as 4 landscape parks, they form part of the Tuchola Forests Biosphere Reserve, covering an area of 3195 km², which was established in 2010 by the decision of the UNESCO International Coordinating Council for the "Man and the Biosphere" (MAB) program. The 25 nature reserves, which are the most valuable natural sites in the entire Tuchola Forests region, are: Brda River Valley, Stążka Marshes, Stążka Springs, Piaseczno Lake, Zygmunt Czubiński Brzęki, Miedzno, Old Polish Yews named after Leon Wyczółkowski, Laska Lake, Mętne, Chrobotkowy Forest, Stawek Marsh, Ciche Lake, Małe Łowne Lake, Piecki, Yews over the Czerska Stream, Stone Circles, Zdręczno Lake, Bloody Pits, Dury, Goat Ponds, Nawionek Lake, Ustronie, Grzybna Marsh, Deer Mountain, Dead.
The landscape parks are: Wdzydze Landscape Park, Tuchola Landscape Park, Zaborski Landscape Park, and Wda Landscape Park. The Biosphere Reserve is located between two left tributaries of the Vistula River – the Brda and Wda, whose rivers and systems, as well as numerous lakes, have created a unique ecosystem, while being an excellent place for relaxation and active tourism. There is no shortage of peat bogs, dunes, and heaths. From the Komierowo Palace to the border of the Tuchola Forests Biosphere Reserve it is less than 11 km, while to the heart of the reserve, the so-called central zone, i.e., the Brda valley, is about 15 km.
